Health insurance
Health insurance is insurance for medical expenses. You can think of costs for a visit to the doctor or hospital, but also for medication.
Basic insurance (basisverzekering in Dutch) is compulsory for everyone who lives or works in the Netherlands. This means you are insured for care from the basic package. The government determines what is included in the basic health insurance package. Besides the basic insurance you can also take out additional insurance. By taking out this additional insurance you can choose which medical expenses you want to be reimbursed that the basic insurance does not cover. Check here which health insurance suits you best. The Health insurance line can also advise you and help you take out a health insurance policy. Do you want to change your insurance or switch to another insurance? Please note that this is only possible in the last six weeks of the year.
